One topic I think might be of use within this subject is adding in some information about the basic hardware of a computer setup. Looking at the insides of a computer tower and how it is all physically connected.
Another potential topic would be how to use or deal with viruses, trojans and other unwanted intrusions and how to ascertain if they are present, so as not to corrupt any of your published data.
Maybe a topic on other forms of data storage. external hard drives, cd's, flash drives.

Feedback: Zun
For this slideshow presentation of our comp1900, assignment 2 information, I found this slideshow to quite clean visually and easy to read.
The presentation flowed through it's ideas well. Unfortunately I do not understand some of the information provided in the graphs and charts. What was ADL? The static display in the charts and graphs is well done.
I can remember this group as doing a rotation presentation of the data as it was shown, well spoken and presented.

For this particular slideshow presentation,of comp1900 assignment2 information, I found the visual presentation to be quite well set out. Easy to read and follow.
There is generally a good flow of one idea to the next. I found there was several different versions of the information being presented as charts and graphs in the static section.
From what I remember of the actual presentation, it was not a concise as it could have been, but was presented quite clealy.

From the consumer to the producer
There is a considerable amount of information to digest in this area. The field of ethics when it comes to the internet alone can be rather intense. I find this comes from the idea that the general concept of manners, privacy, rights and many other topics may be applied in a very flexible way and point of view in the realm of ethernet. This all does have a big impact on us today as we are all, well in my household, high end users of the computers on the internet.

Alternative software
This was an interesting experience. The use of free software programs as word processors, spreadsheet and chart developers. From what I remember correctly from our assignment 2 presentations most of us used googledocs to be able to communicate and get the assignment developed and delivered. This is the google documents site that was used by our group for assignment 2 http://docs.google.com/ .
I found that the freeware was a little confusing at times to use, but if you did require a word processor or a way of making a document without the access to a Microsoft Office Word or similarly familiar programme, they make a good alternative.

The power of the computer
The computer is very powerful tool to use. Understanding and knowing how to use the software applications that are available on your particular machine can take some muddling through or as I found useful, attending a class on how to use specific applications more fully. Computers have come a long way from just being able to'crunch'data and transfer data. They do still get used for these abilities and many, many more things.

Interface as a mediator
Interface can be described as the mediator, in this particular point of reference, for the use of computers. This website has a good basic description of an interface within a computer reference. http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/I/interface.html . Any interface to be used can be a little inhibiting if there is too much information demanding your attention.
How most of us mediate the use of a computer is through a Graphical User Interface (GUI - goo ee). This is the very first screen seen by the user once the computer has booted up and the operating system (OS) is active. We are most familiar with Microsoft and Apple software as the OS available.
